Rema Saraswathy, Member Secretary 

Holds Masters (MSc and M Phil) in Demography and PhD in Demography-Social Work. Has been in the field of research and social development for the past 30 years. Key areas of expertise are: programme evaluation, impact assessment, qualitative research, Integrated Water Resources Management(IWRM), and project preparation in the social and community development. Has been engaged in more than 35 research projects in various capacity and has been leading the team at ISD that is engaged in research, training and developing community participatory models in sustainable development since its inception in 2005. She is Chief Functionary of the institution and the primary contact person for ISD.

G. Vijayaram, Consultant and Member Advisory Board
Prof Vijayaram holds M.A and Ph.D degrees in Social Work and has been involved in Social Work training, research, and practice for the past 35 years. A recognized research guide of the University of Madras for M.Phil and Ph D programmes produced three Ph Ds and several M Phil under various universities in Tamil Nadu. Instrumental in establishing a Rural Development Centre, an extension unit of the Madras School of Social Work, a well-recognized master trainer; has trained more than 5000 teachers in his career at MSSW. As a Consultant Social Development Specialist for the World Bank aided irrigation management project TN-IAMWARM, he was responsible in ensuring the participatory irrigation management in the project. Key areas of expertise: Sustainable Development of Natural Resources through Social Work education, research and practice. He is available as a full time consultant at ISD.

Mr M Malaichamee :
Mr Malaichamee belongs to financial managementsector by profession, and has been with working in the TN State Government for more than three decades. He is an advisor to Institute of Sustainable Development and available as and when his expertise is required in the assignments at ISD.

P.K.Suresh, Technical Advisor and Consultant
Dr Suresh holds B Tech (Civil Engg), M.S by research (Ocean Engg IIT Madras), Ph D (Ocean Engg IIT Madras)and Post Graduate Certificate in Technology &Sustainable Development (IIT Madras & EPFL Swiss). He has more than 32 years of professional standing. After his voluntary retirement from government service as a PWD Engineer, is full time engaged in Teaching, Research and Consultancy with different institutions including IIT Madras. He is an advisor to ISD and available whenever required.

P. Muniyappan, Head Community initiatives
He holds M.A Rural Development from Gandhigram Rural University and has been in the field for more than 30 years. He is expert in participatory technique including Participatory Rural Appraisal. He is available full time with ISD.

Besides, ISD has a list of empanelled Consultants engaged on need base.
